The Danville Readiness Center Modernization Design project aims to revitalize and transform the existing Danville Armory, built in 1955, into a state-of-the-art facility that meets the needs of the modern military force. This comprehensive renovation involves adding approximately 2,000 square feet of functional space, upgrading the entire facility to adhere to current building codes, and implementing significant improvements to restrooms, showers, and mechanical systems. By addressing the limitations of the existing infrastructure, which was designed for smaller units of predominantly male service members, the project will create an inclusive environment that caters to the requirements of today's diverse military personnel. Through sustainable and innovative design, the Danville Readiness Center will stand as a model for the Indiana National Guard, demonstrating their commitment to providing a safe, efficient, and supportive space for their service members to train and prepare for their critical missions.
